Rocky Mountain Diaper Depot

October 16, 2018

5:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Location:
The Cable Center
2000 Buchtel Blvd
Denver, CO 80210

For many parents here in metro Denver, a car, access to a warehouse club, and cash are “luxuries” they simply don’t have, so they buy diapers at convenience stores within walking distance of their apartments. The packages may have as few as six in a box—which makes the per-diaper price the highest you’ll find.

Babies needs 6 to 10 diapers per day, costing upwards of $100 a month. If you live at or below the poverty level, you might have to choose between paying bills, buying food…or buying diapers (which you can’t buy with WIC or food stamps). Without enough diapers for routine changes, you start reusing dirty diapers, creating rashes and health problems—your baby cries more, stress levels go up and parenting just got tougher.

Rocky Mountain Diaper Depot helps get diapers and supplies for these moms, and change lives.

LIST OF NEEDED ITEMS:

Children’s diapers (all sizes)

Wipes

Diaper rash cream with zinc oxide

Baby pull-ups

MaxFund Animal Shelter

June 18, 2019

5:30pm – 9:30pm

Location:
The Cable Center
2000 Buchtel Blvd
Denver, CO 80210

MaxFund is a true no‐kill Animal Adoption Center, whose primary mission is to take in injured animals with no known owner and provide them with medical care, rehabilitation and find them good homes with responsible pet parents. In May 1989, Nanci Suro gathered a group of animal lovers that believe these animals deserve a second chance; they planned and carried out all of the fundraisers. Dr. Bill Suro, and his staff, provided the medical care and kennel for the animals. In 1990, thanks to a generous offer from Art Leisenring, the MaxFund moved into a building at 1025 Galapago Street in Denver. MaxFund’s mission:

Saving injured animals without owners. We will keep working hard to alleviate the suffering of creatures that didn’t deserve their fate, and to find a home for them with loving people. We believe in second chances. No matter how large we become, in a real sense we will always be “the small shelter that makes a big difference.
